There was a guy that I used in the past for brass plate engraving, "signs by paul" he advertised in PFM several times, but the phone number no longer works, anyone know if he is still around?

Bob, for the past eighteen years, I've gotten my title
plates from Mountain Enterprises in Kalispell, Montana.
Her number is 1-800-600-2101, and I've always
been very happy with the plates. She does some custom
shapes and sizes, too.

Hmmm...I am just looking for a small but elegant or different-looking (as opposed to ordinary rectangular) engraved brass plate - not the whole kit and kaboodle. For the oak box of my kitty's ashes.

Didn't find anything like that on Jerry's pages..... :(

Keep 'em coming, folks - maybe what I have in my head doesn't exist in brass......

And don't ask what is in my head - it's like when I go shopping for a new purse every decade - I'll know what I want when I see it. ;)

I used Sign Design for years. I could describe it and they could make it. If not, I could fax my design and they would take it from there. Give them a call, they are really great people. They are fast, too.

I guess I was looking for a fancy ornamented brass plaque - all of the ones I have seen look like they come from the same "How to engrave a plaque" school and here are the templates and the machine and the stock.....

OK - getting an idea here - maybe I'll get an ordinary one with scrolly font and frame it in a little gold fillet before I install it!

Talk to Lisa Crabtree at Frames of Distinction. She does laser engraving and can do it on just about any material you would want. If you can do it in Photoshop, Word, or just about any way of creating text or images she can do it.

Of course what I have is not that color - but I can make it any color I wish - just about fell over when I held up my scrap piece to the screen! Happy dance!
