Does anyone know where I can find a maintenance manual or spec sheets for an older Pistorius V-nailer? It says model V-NA on the badge on the side thats about all the identification I can find for it.

I think I spend more time trying to get mangled v-nails out of it than I do actually using it.

Is this a common problem? Any tips would be helpful :help:

Happy New Years!

First, are you inserting the v nails correctly? Older versions of Pistorius v nails were placed glue strip down, but newer versions as well as replica v nails are inserted glue strip up. Inserting them incorrectly can make the v nails not shoot correctly.

Have you cleaned the shaft of any glue deposits? You need to routinely clean out the gunk that sets up in the track as well as the bottom of the drive shaft. Remove the v nails and step on the peddle as if you are going to shoot a nail. Hold the handle so the driver stays up and clean off anything that is sticking to the driver. Also inspect to see if the bottom of the driver is broken.

I would also recommend adding a drop or two of driver lube oil into the shaft every so often, and make sure your oil reservoir always has oil in it and you drain excess water from the filter.

Are you by any chance using Decor corner nails item #612. I think they just switched manufacturers. I have always gotten these and they used to have an orangish brown strip of glue. Now they are clear. I was having trouble with the new v-nails jamming and wasn't sure if it was the nails or something else. I found a strip of the old nails in a drawer and tried them to see if they worked differently. The old nails worked perfectly the new nails are still giving me problems. The one thing that i have noticed helps with the new nails is to push them forward while stepping on the pedal. I know that is not the right solution but it is getting me through this bad batch of nails.
