Hey, Gumby --

If you're in the market for a used Pistorius, mine is just down the road from you and I'll help you load it.

It's a good saw. 12" blades, 230 volt, single phase motors. I had the spindle bearings replaced and got it tested & adjusted by the Ultra-Mitre service man when he was in town last year. I think it's about time for a new set of belts, but otherwise it should go another decade without any trouble.

As soon as you buy it, I can order that Ledsome saw I've been craving about 5 years now.
:D

Talked to my customer . Told them even though that was a good price might be a little high. So they went to 4500.00 . A much better deal.. Let me know...

Jim $180 for a spindle bearing not bad hey!~ did you have them both replaced?~
$4500 is getting pretty better!~ Someone make him an offer!~ $####

Is it OK to use a phase converter from 3 phase to single phase?
I know their is a loss of horsepower but is that important?
If I buy a 3 phase machine and use the converter to single phase am i OK?

Do you mean 3 phase machine and convert FROM single phase? Thats what I do and can't tell any difference.

Call Pistorius: 631-582-6000 or 631-582-6278. They know their machines better than anyone :D

Oh, yes. Replacing one spindle bearing would be ill-advised, because they both experience the same use and the same rate of wear.

At the same time, Justis (the traveling UltraMiter service representative) adjusted every angle on the saw.

Hmmmmm...

We recently purchased a 14" 480v 3ph Pistorious, pneumatic, with auto hold-downs and a $3000 8' digital measuring system for about $12,500. Hard to imagine the add-ons to bring it to almost double that....
