Hi. Would anyone have any ideas on how to remove a 3foot by 4foot photograph that has been glued to a plaster wall, without demolition of the wall? I'm not sure what kind of glue was used. It's a photo from the early 1950's. My guess is its a job for a conservator...Thanks for any thoughts.

It might be easier and cheaper to have a professional photographer copy the image where it is if you did not have access to the original negative(if it still exists).

Depending on what was used a conservator might or might not be able to remove that photo in one piece. Your clients budget might also be another factor.

take the wall

Had a friend that had an internet company make a large mural abouth twice this size and put it on the wall. His partner used headliner glue that is normally used for car headliners. Too cheap to frame it! When they moved they literally cut the drywall, repaired the hole, painted the new drywall, peeled the top layer of paper with the mural on it then scanned it!!!
As stupid as this sounds it worked!!

It would have been cheaper to have framed it in the first place.
