Hi, I have an old photo 11 by 14 that is on canvas and then it has been made to look like an oil. I think it is from Olan Mills. It has a major crease in it and also has 4 fingerprints in the background. Any ideas on how to correct either one? Thanks
Jeannie

scan it, fix it digitally, reprint on canvas, slap some acrylic medium on it.

I'm with Cliff on this one. I wouldn't want to do anything that might damage the original. Once it's digital you can do whatever you want.

If you do not have a local source, scan it in sections, upload to Digital Custom (aka Image-Edit) ... they'll do everything you need in terms of touch-up and then print on canvas (or a variety of paper substrates) for you.

Is this your own or a customers?
If it is yours, go ahead and play with it.
If it is a customers discuss it with the customer or leave it be.

It belongs to another person, NOT a customer! A friend of a coworker. When I told him he would have to spend some $ getting it repaired he just took it and left. Guess since he thought he was a friend we could fix it and no cost. Don't really think he would of even had us frame it. I have always said if I had to depend on friends to stay in business, I would have gone a long time ago!
