I am not sure what you call it. Oriental piece, black paper, possible cut by hand. Pretty sure it is not cut with a laser, edges are to clean (no burn).

So...
What do you call it?
Any experience mounting these?
Anything I should be aware of?

Thanks again..... ;)

Hi Danny, There was a good thread about this topic in October, begun by
Ken Ryan. It's called 'Mounting Asian Cut-outs', and has quite a few helpful comments. I hope this is useful for you. :)

Sounds like an Asian paper cut, those are kewl, and delicate! Shayla has the best idea,I saw something about these before.Check the archives. BTW,Didn`t Paper Lace do the song "The night Chicago died"? L.

I've handled MANY of these. And maybe it's been covered before...

Cut up a bunch of tiny 1/8" squares of dry mount tissue and tack them down in aproppriate "concealed" places in the work. Choose anywhere that the tissue pieces won't show and where the artwork itself won't "flap" down. Sometimes you need to tack down a sliver of tissue.

Done many of these. Not had ONE come back!
