I received a small pamphlet advertising repros of old posters in PFM or Decor. I promtly threw it out. Will someone please direct me to the source of cheap reproductions.

Eurographics has a nice selection - also available through Lieberman's.

PS What is it about the Eiffel Tower??? Lately it seems that anything I frame with Le Tour Eiffel (even just in the background) sells immediately. Is it just another phallic symbol replacing the lighthouse craze of a few years ago? Can anyone explain this? Kit

People like those reproductions until they find out how much it costs to frame them. LOL I work in South Texas, where art appreciation is notoriously lacking...and people don't understand why art at Wal Mart is thirty bucks, and the equivalent (at least as far as they know) costs about $150-$200 custom-made.

For all you framers on the east coast, btw, I got a comment the other day that will make you laugh.

A guy was framing large, signed and numbered Civil War prints. I suggested a couple of suedes that would have looked very nice.

"Oh my God," he said, his nose wrinkling in distaste. "That looks like something from....NEW YORK."

I patiently explained that most of the trends that are popular now in TX were old news two years ago in New York....

But he went with the paper mats anyway. *sigh*

And as for the Eiffel Tower, I can only assume that it has the same Instant Cache as silly Monet and Van Gogh posters. "Look! I have Culture and Taste! I have something RECOGNIZABLE on my wall!"

People who don't know much about art find comfort in the obvious.
