THANK YOU for submitting this excellent resource to the Grumble, for our members.

I may be missing something.
I have clicked both links in the original post multiple times, and been brought to the Overview tab of this discussion every time.
Not seeing instructions.

Thanks,
Brian

I liked your directions. Very similar to my method. Main difference being that 99% of the time for a standard lace, I will use a layer of batting between the fabric and foamcore to reduce stress and make straightening easier on the fc edge.

I also don’t use additional fabric added unless needed. Most of our customers are instructed to give us 3” or so of border to work with.

Lacing linen/aida/cloth is done with a double stitch also, except my stitch is parallel to the lacing thread direction, and much closer, every 1/4 inch or so.

Overall a very similar technique. I definitely use more thread and less fabric than you. I like that your method really reduces stress to the pieces’ fabric.

Thanks for sharing! Fun to see everyone’s technique.

Thank you for your comments, Issa!
The reason I place the double stitch at right angles to the direction of the lacing is so that any tension applied to the fabric by the lacing thread, is shared between the two passes!
