Open House idea

Didn't want to (ahem) clutter up the cleaning thread...

I LIKE the idea of having all pick-ups on one day! Makes it kind of an unofficial "Open House"! You know you're going to be out front talking all day, might as well make the most of it!

This could really work. Have coffee, (or whatever) and just "welcome people" on that day. Call it "Monday Mayhem!" or "Saturday Surprises".

Of course, folks wouldn't have to pick up on that day, but excitment feeds on excitment, doncha know!

I saw this idea work for a tiny little bookstore tucked away on the mezzanine between the second and third floors of an old building. They held "Thursday Nights" every single week. Some cookies, tea, coffee-and of course, an author to speak and "hold court". It became the place to "see and be seen" on Thursday nights. Have to admit, it was kind of fun...and they sold a tremendous number of books for such a tiny little place!
