Tru Vue's Optium acrylic is, on their web site, said to be anti-static and safe to use with pastels and charcoals. Have you found that to be the case?

Personally I have not used the TruVue OA for pastels or charcoal. I guess no matter what they say I would be a little hesitant. I've been told for so long not to use acrylic for pastels or charcoals that I don't feel like taking the chance and won't until I hear some good reports for others that have done it.

Optium has a static dispersive coating of tin oxide on it, which means that it can not hold a static charge. The most dramatic test to demonstate this involves taking a sheet of gold leaf and attaching it at one end to a back mat and spacing Optium and glass, both in front of it. It is immediately clear that the glass can hold a static change, while the Optium can not.
