After doing my due diligence online I hesitate to mention the Lion trimmer, but I have an original Pootatuck that I purchased new c. 2002 and didn't have much use for it until recently. I sent the blades to the address listed on the Pootatuck website and, unlike some, got them back in what was apparently record time... 2 months! This, by the way, is apparently also their turnaround time for responding to emails as well. If there's a response at all. I'm not at all sure at this point what Pootatuck is, it certainly doesn't seem like an active, operational, business. Anyway, enough ranting... but I do actually have a relevant question:

There are two bolts that secure the frame to the base (sorry, this question only works if you have a Lion trimmer, I believe...) On top of each there is a small arrowhead. Is the orientation of the arrowhead significant? It doesn't seem to be, but then, on the other hand there might be something I'm not getting. Comments???

and thanks... trimmer 13_0622 03.jpg

Those are bolt identification and/or grade marks and should be entirely irrelevant. However, I suppose it's possible that Pootatuck machined the bolts some how and used those marks as references; of that possibility I am entirely unaware, not being familiar with the function of them. I would remove the bolts, and if they just look like regular bolts assume that there is no significance.

David, thanks for the comment. It kind of confirms that I was thinking, based on trying the bolts at different positions, which made no appreciable difference. Thanks again...

I remember seeing those contraptions advertised in old DECOR magazines, and could never figure out how they were supposed to work.
They look really dangerous.
