What an exciting event yesterday. Over 80 entrants in the competition - amazing quality, workmanship and creativity. I'm thrilled to have won 1st place! Here are some pictures of my piece (hopefully the lines show straight):

Size: 18x20
Moulding: Omega 80102
Double Mats: Peterboro Muesum
French Lines (total 7): every line is coloured to match areas of the print; chalk pastel panel outlined and powder colour matched
Spacer on the glass to keep off the mat surface
Mirogard Preservation glass

Did I mention that I hate white mats?

OK, with that taken care of, three things stand out.

1) Hey! You really look like you.
2) Nice ribbon.
3) Really nice line work; really nice.

The frame is a nice compliment to the center tree too. Congratulations.

Thanks for everyones comments; it's always great to get instant feedback from fellow framers.
As part of the recognition, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place pieces will be on display in the Omega Moulding booth at Decor Atlanta in September. Alas, I won't be there!
 
well that's a drag. Luckily, we have the PMA Show here in Toronto in September (hope Jim Miller will still be attending and holding seminars)
 
Great framing job, Julie. Your french lines look terrific and I love the frame moulding.
 
Congratulations on taking first prize Julie. I'm always thrilled when I know the person who won! It was great working with you that day and being one of the speakers at the event. So glad you won!
 
Thanks Carol, it was a great event. Hopefully I will see you at PMA Canada in September.

For all those grumblers: Carol and I were keynote speakers at the Omega event. Carol presented "Pricing for Profit" and I stirred the audience with "Get Marketing"
