I’ve been a fan of Old Grange Graphics for several years, but I’m at the point where I have to withdraw my recommendation.
Two weeks after I sent in a print to have transferred, I got a call from accounts payable at OGG saying that I had never established an account with them. I went through my records and gave her several invoice numbers dating back to 1996. The terms on this account were Net 30. I had never been late with a payment.
She refused to accept this information, and stated that I would have to resubmit my credit application, but, until it was processed, I would have to give her a credit card number. Not wishing to delay the customer any more than necessary, I gave her the store’s VISA number. I immediately faxed another credit application to her.
I am sure she way lying!
The completed transfer arrived the next morning – way too quickly for her to have accepted the credit card, processed it, transferred the print to canvas, stretched it, boxed it and shipped it. I am sure that the work had been finished before she called.
The transfer which was a “Museum Wrap” was pitifully done. Part of the image overlapped onto two of the white sides and part of the image “bled” so that the white sides were stained. The customer wanted to hang this canvas as is without having it framed. Because of this overlapping, uneven stain, now she cannot.
A tag (probably an internal routing reference number) was laminated into the canvas. It is so well sealed into the laminate, that I cannot remove it either with pliers or a razor blade.
I believe that they asked for the credit card number so that I could not easily dispute or withhold payment to my existing Net 30 account.
Repeated messages left at Old Grange Graphics have remained unanswered.
Does anyone deal with another canvas transfer company who will accept “outside” prints i.e. does <u>not</u> require you to purchase the print from them?
I got so many hits doing a Google search that I cannot easily wade through them all.
