Is anyone planning to go to the trade show this weekend in NY?

It's smaller than some (~350 framing vendors), but the big players will be there.

I'll be there sunday.

I talked to a number of my vendors and some of the big ones are going to visit the show but won't be participating other than scouting it out.

I'm looking forward to it, and hope it catches on.

Anyone in?

FrameTek will be coming all the way from Oregon. The old Frame-O-Rama shows there were great for both manufacturers, distributors, and framers. This show is being put on by the same folks that did Frame-o-rama. Lots of good deals and discounts. A chance to meet NEW vendors to get out of your rutz. Plenty of parking on top of pier 92 right next door. I understand that they have revamped the whole area. Should be a lot of stuff for everybody. Stop by booth # 718 and say hello. If you don't have the time, just say hi.

I plan on going Monday!

Do you think that they will have 'Grumbler' ribbons?

Just kidding.

I am going for a few hours late on Saturday. I am closing the shop early to attend this show. Hope that it is worth the trip to New York. Remember the good old days when it was held in the Penta? What fun!

I think I did enough damage in Atlanta.

Ahhh, the Penta! I remember going (had to have been) the first or second year. Anyway, it was before they opened the side rooms and it was just in the ballroom. It was like walking into Aladdin's Cave! I couldn't believe all the framing stuff in ONE PLACE! And we would stay in this apartment/hotel that had a rate of $39 a night (no lie!) and eat deli until I thought we would explode... take home 5 dozen bagels on the train. Oh, what fun it was!

I'm here already, having enjoyed this lovely rain for the past 3 days in New England! :( Yes - I know it's actually been raining longer than that.

Good news is that rumor has it that the sunshine will show in New York this afternoon.
I'll be in the Fletcher-Terry booth today and tomorrow (Sunday), so if you attend, please stop by and introduce yourself as a fellow Grumbler.

Cheers,

John

Would that be the Chelsea Inn? Still only $89/night and at 46 W. 17th Street. Unbelieveable price for the location.

How is/was the show? I know today is the last day.
