They picked an unfortunate name for their new 1080 CPU, which is in many cards. It implies it only works at 1920x1080 (the old 1k HD format), but in fact it operates up to 7680x4320 (8k)
If you do any new gaming, you can turn every thing to max and it just runs smooth. I just did a steam test for virtual reality use and it maxed the test. I was considering a 1070 but I found several 1080 for only $100 more than the 1070. The latest X-Plane 11 which choked in my old system with a Nvidia 660 with the same old system putting the new 1080 card in it went to 200+fps when I maxed the graphics out it still was running at 60-70 fps. The exact card I got was a "EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW". There are even faster models than I got.
