The tension adjustment screws on my Fletcher point guns have a habit of loosening and backing out from vibration during use.
Solution: 5/16-18 low-profile nuts. Remove the adjustment screw. Thread the nut all the way onto the screw. Replace screw and set at desired tension. While holding the screw head, tighten nut against rear of point gun body to "lock" setting of adjustment screw. You can snug it up a little with pliers or wrench, but don't over-tighten.

I bought some rubber grommets too, to use as "washers", but there wasn't enough free space on the screw for both it and the nut.
 
Never thought of that, which I tend to associate with pneumatic fittings. I've used Loctite, but in this case I want them to remain adjustable... just to stay where I put them.
