You all probably know about this, but just in case I thought I'd share ... Not too long ago Nurre came out with a new "line" they called Architectural Profiles. There are 8 flat black simple mouldings of various widths and heights. You have to buy a box. A box is 240'

5/8" to 1 1/2" and up to 1 1/16" rabbet.

I just got a box of the W9-961-04 1" with a 9/16 rabbet. 48 cents a foot. It's quite nice. Finish seems good.

Prices range .35 to .70
Worth a look.

I'll second Cliff - it's a cheap, good quality moulding. We've already gone through about 3 boxes in the last month or so. As a practice we DON'T usually buy box goods.

Great profit dollar potential - COG around 15-18% on most orders.

Baer, not that I've noticed yet. Not sure what the finish is, but it is NOT a thick gesso. could be a straight forward paint.

Seems to cut fine.

Can't find it on their website nor in their cataloge . And the number isn't like Nurre uses. Are we getting confused?

This was bugging me so I just called Nurre. I was told that the product was not in the cataloge or website and is only sold by their sales reps.

Bill, it is a different numbering scheme, but it is Nurre. You can not buy it chopped. You must buy a box.

I got the info from my sales rep.

It did show up in my POS database, with length, chop, and join prices, but you can't buy it that way.

Tony, it is giving me a nice gross margin, and I am thinking it will be very useful in the holiday season.

I believe they are importing it from Indonesia, and yes unlike their other products, it is only available by the box and it is only available in Black. My understanding is that the color restriction is a limitation of the company they are importing it from. It is solid wood, not perf board.

I have been using it for several months. It is good quality; however, it is not the same level of quality as the rest of the Nurre line and I have had to discard a few sections for various defects and warpage. Those of you good at touchup can discard less. By the way, if you have recommendations on touch up of this profile class I would be interested in hearing about it. I am newby on that stuff.

They have 9 profiles. All are matte black, and all are simple rectangular with widths ranging from 5/8 inch to 1 1/2 inch, and rabbits from 5/16 to 1 inch.

LOL, well, since it says in big black letters "Made in Indonesia" on the back, that's probably a good guess.

And, I agree it is not "the same quality" as most profiles from Nurre. I didn't mean to imply that. But, it seems to be a good value with plenty of margin room to price to "comparable retail."

I haven't seen any of the bad footage yet. Only been through about 1/4 of a box. I did notice a "shiney spot" which took some polishing to subdue. But I've seen worse on some of the heavy gesso blacks.

ROFLOL! At first I was embarrassed at out unobservant I was but then I looked at some and could only see Nurre Caxton and part number stuff stamped on mine. Then I went to a box and looked at the end and finally saw it. I currently outsource the chop and join so mine are in a box and when I get it back the ends are gone.
