Hi terry,
sorry, I'm posting it now.

I meant to get this in for this month's poll. I know it isn't your typical veteran's framing, but I take into consideration that this particular vet will probably never frame any of his war-related items. He came back from Iraq and found a number of his buddies had lost their legs or where disabled in some other manner. As a member of Pheasants Forever, he wanted to help them in some way. With the help of his daughter, he founded a group called Heartland Heroes. Last year, when they launced the group, they brought out a group of disabled vets for a weekend hunt at no expense to them. The vets were all given a shotgun to keep, the wives were given a manicure, pedicure and facial, kids had special activities and all were fed and housed at no expense. It was wonderful, to say the least! He received a commendation from President Bush and the city declared the days of the hunt Heartland Heroes Day. We are in the process of framing all of these documents for him. I used the logo from his organization with his permission in the matting for this particular frame, which he is giving to his daugther for her work on the project. The frame is LJ 358968 and mats are C9856 and C1550. The white and red accent mats are scraps so I don't have numbers for them. Overall size is 12 x 17.

Edelweiss, the alpine flower that was a symbol of troops trained in winter and mountain fighting.
