Just spent today (Sunday) at the Orlando furiture and accessories show ( We use a lot of products in our home decor area from these shows)..this was a very dismal show with low vendor and buyer turnouts....worse one in several years. I started the morning with our local paper reporting 11.9% unemployment in our county last month (July) and ended the day with a crappy show, plus my dinner out was pretty bad too...maybe Monday will be better. Methinks the economic recovery is still far on the horizon here in Florida.

It is sad. Same kind of unemployment numbers here and the season is ending so the layoffs are about to begin. Recovery talk is a sham. They just hope the consumer will go spend more than they can again to keep it from getting even worse.

I've looked at most of the reports and numbers and all they say is it could be much worse. Huge wave of forclosures of high end homes brewing and they will begin to land on the market in January. Consumer spending numbers are about to tank. Banks are dropping like flies and that is just beginning. FDIC is out of cash just as the party is getting started.

Am I too late to coin the phrase:

"DOWN IS THE NEW UP FOR THE ECONOMY"

I think with our new president now in full control, we can expect nothing but change for the better. There is a bright and happy future ahead for us all. The Bush years are over and there will be dancing in the streets. Forget all this doom and gloom, we have the greatest economy and government in the world, there is nothing to worry about. "Let the good times roll."

Have you noticed more companies are offering lessons on how to speak Chinese lately?

Is this a joke

I hope this comment was a joke.
To think that the new president is much different fiscally than the last is strange, they both spent money we didn't not have. The current is just spending it faster and then will come inflation. Either way you look at the two Obama or Bush they are not that concerned about the fiscal strength of our country just the power of the government. For someone that is from bankrupt California you would think that spending money you do not have might make you a bit upset.
That is all, for further political discussions just jerk my chain
