Has anyone received a letter and/or a visit from Larson saying that their sales reps are being consolidated? I have a former GM doing the sales rep for my store and all others in the Philly area. Anyone else?

I talked to mine this morning. Of course it was on the phone. So.....??? maybe it was a recording??

Why not just ask you new sales rep that was the former GM?

Truth is they did some reoganization.

GM's were in charge of sales in the area and production. The GM postion was changed to Regional Sales manager incharge of sales reps from several warehouses. Also the previous Warehouse manager use to report to the GM but now reports to a Regional production manager.

Becasue of these changes some GM's moved down and some moved up and some were given a pink slip.

I still have my sales rep and I am in the Philly area too. I do not have the former GM as a sales rep.

We didn't have one for awhile, but we have one now. She's great and it means a lot to us to be able to pick up the phone and talk to someone we know and that knows us. That may go against current corporate thinking, but there were some times when we had no rep that were very distressing.

I have not had a rep since last November. I have not had an LJ sales call since 6 weeks before then. I heard that my GM is going to head the Artaissance program. LJ better get their act together here real soon or they are going to find themselves on the outs.

Ours went on to a new venture and our Gm told us they were not going to replace him that he would be picking up the slack.

Ours comes more than any other rep, and we're not close to her usual location. She's great. We'll see what comes down the pike on this one. I hope that they let us keep her, as seeing reps is so helpful.

My local sales rep, Joe Garritone, was in today with the new Regional Sales Manager, Steve Ham. Steve is from Denver and will handle the Seattle, Denver, St. Louis sales teams. More focus on sales and building the business. They did a very nice presentation on new mouldings and gave me some great ideas for a few problem areas.

The GM's were reassigned/took early retirement/were out of a job. There are no more GM's at the warehouses but now there are regional vice presidents (7, if I remember correctly).

I expected to see a downturn in quality but it has been the opposite. We're getting better quality now than we have in the past year.

We still have our rept and he makes regular calls even though we're between there and nowhere.

I'm under there minimum sales figures so Harry doesn't stop. Hasn't for a long time. Doubt they'll ever get rid of him. If they do they're crazy!

Hmm, I don't buy because he doesn't come (and the pricing and the shipping charges, and the truck won't stop...) Maybe if I saw a rep I'd buy more... Nah. Harry was great, but the COD charges were murder to business. With all the other companies out there I really don't miss LJ in my shop. If my customers really want an LJ frame they can go to Michael's or some other BB.

Mine was in about 8 weeks ago, and she is coming again on Tuesday, this time with her manager. It's not unusual, though. The GM even came out once or twice on rounds over the years.

They have a few good reps, mine is one of them , but the rest are always in flux. Would you do a job on commision in the framing industry in this economy???

There are still reps in the Philly area. Mine was here about a week ago. Some jobs were moved around, but I found that the best idea is to just ask your rep.

I did talk to my rep, who is now my new delivery driver. I also met with the former GM for the Philadelphia warehouse. I was interested in seeing if anyone else had a change in their sales rep. Looks like it might just be my area in South Jersey.

LJ did some reorganization to provide better service to their customers, they went back to the way they used to be if I understand correctly. They kept the best of the best for GMs and gave them more responsibility. Business is as usual and most did not notice any change, these changes actually happened almost 2 months ago.

Frame Lady, you have a good person to work with in Steve Hamm, I worked with him for many years and have a lot of respect for him. Your former LJ rep Bart worked for him and you will see the same qualities in Steve that you saw in Bart.

Same rep here in NorCal; she has a huge territory, but we see her about once in two months; she's usually available by phone and gives great customer service. We have increased our business with L-J and I hope it has worked to her benefit as well, our price point with them has gotten better...:D

Studio and Orr/Bay have new reps in our area...

I'm outside of Philly and saw my rep a few weeks back, and she is beyond great. Didn't mention anything about the reorganization to me but I didn't know anything to ask her about it. So far so good.

Tell Joe that Lauri From Rose Crafts said HIIIII next time you see him!!!!
He used to be my rep for a long long time. I thought he went east farther... did not know it was east a couple miles to Seattle!

Hi. Bob!

We've dealt with Harry for YEARS! He IS great! That's why he won the L-J Salesman of the Year for 2003! When I called him and told him our store burned down in April, he was RIGHT THERE! With samples and catalogs and "what can I do to help?" Of course, he was thinking about the profits L-J could make from me buying equipment and supplies from them! But that's okay, as that is his JOB!

I'm amazed at the sheer territory these reps cover. All the way up to Maine? WOW! But not really, as the L-J warehouse is in Methuen, which is in the northern-most corner of Massachusetts, so it's close to southern New Hampshire and Maine.

I, personally, go to Larson-Juhl right after I've exhausted my Decor samples with customers. L-J delivers every Friday; their in-stock is better than most. The quality is WAY better than Decor for raw moulding, though their chop service is the same. Don Mar is better for primo chop!

This is my take since our personal 9-11: 4-24! The Night of the Fire! Sort of like the Night of the Lepers!
