I have a 36 X 48 stretched canvas that has a slight warp. I've framed it in a Nielsen 117 profile and put two vertical cross braces on it. It already has corner braces. It still has a small warp and I think one corner would lift a little off the wall though it is easy to push down.

Would using Nielsen Security Hardware pull it against the wall? I'm thinking it would.

It would work but really only for a warp on the top. What you might want to try (with permission if you can) is Velcro. The clip in plastic male side that comes with the samples and some small self adhesive female pieces on the wall.

Mm-mm... Interesting suggestion.

I agree with Paul. That should work. Just don't read any books by Malcolm Gladwell, though, or you may worry that over time the small amount of flex might pull the whole wall out of shape and ruin the structural integrity of the building, possibly causing a catastrophic collapse.

(Sorry. Just had to add that. Carry on...)

Thinking about this some more... why would I need to hit both corners on the bottom Seems the one in the pack holding down the bottom center of the frame would do it. It isn't bowing strong.

Of course two at the bottom would be better, but more complex for my customer to hang, more expensive and another hole in the wall which is always an obstacle.

As I think about the velcro idea... I'm afraid that it would give eventually so at this point I lean toward the Security Hardware.

The thing about Velcro is that it itself has to be affixed to both surfaces, and it's that adhesive that could either be the "weak link in the chain" so to speak, or cause problems of one kind or another. As Jim M. always says, mechanical fasteners are more reliable.

FrameTeks' "FrameSecure" metal frame security hangers to the rescue.

http://www.frametek.com/HTML/FrameSecure/index.html

The anchors we use have a 120 lb. pullout resistance in 1/2 inch drywall and will work in any thickness drywall as well as brick and concrete.

No special tools or keys needed.

I've personally hung a 4 x 8 ft. piece of 3/4 inch particle board framed in a Neilson 66 with one FrameSecure kit that cost $1.20

Contact me for a free sample.

OBTW, it's the anchors used in almost everyones security hanging system that is the weak link. Especially the ones using the big plastic or cast metal screw-in anchors. These crush the drywall as they enter which really weakens the pull-out resistance.

Try a pull-out test with your favorite anchors - you'll be underwhelmed!

Listen to Greg and take him up on his generous offer of samples. His security system is the cleanest and most elegant solution for metal frames. We use them and they work great.
