So I received my check today for the Nielsen Rewards program. You received 50 cents per chop for all chops purchased last year.

So how come my check is for xx dollars and 79 cents? Either I received a premium of 29 cents or they shorted me 21 cents. Go figure!

Think I'll take Bob to the Legion tonight. thanks Nielsen.

Got mine today as well. Mine was for xx dollars and 55 cents.

odd that? oh wait, I just took a quick look at what I sent them ... I ordered two legs to repair a customer's frame. They must have "prorated" it has "half a chop" or something.

Did you have a "partial order" Maryann?

I think I did - so your partial was 5 cents and mine musta been 29 cents. Wonder how that was computed?

Who cares! It's Friday and I'm going out!!

With all that dough, you can surely afford to take me with you!!

Heard that they were not going to do it again this year since too many people complained.

Guess i won't take the wife out for dinner on Nielsen next year.

Hi there, Nielsen will have a new program this year instead of the rebate program. As a rep for the company, I can say we are always trying to simplify our programs and make them more user friendly. The new program should be rolling out soon and I think everyone will be happy with it!

First, it is not a big deal for me to save the required "stuff" for the rebates and I take advantage of most that are worth my time. It sometimes gets confusing when there is a Nurre program, a Nielson program and a Bainbridge program. Why can't we just combine the 3 programs into a single form because I tend to lump all three into the same vendor category.

I just received the email announcement from Nurre this morning... looks like the same foamboard rebate program as in the past except they will send a FREE "Foamboard Invoice Storage Case". They not only need the invoices as proof of purchase; they also need the UPC stickers.

Rick, They also changed the "dates." The next cycle goes from March to December. Apparently framers were having trouble because it didn't end the same as the year! And we wonder why the industry is dying!?!!!

Would someone please explain to me why they need the sticker from the foam core box plus the invoice when they only needed the invoice for the metal rebate program. My check arrived for the metal yesterday, almost $400, so definately worth it!

If you are picking up Paul how about swinging by this way and we can all go to dinner. Sounds like more fun than completing taxes....

Thanks for the welcome Janet.

The rebate programs are DEFINITELY worth the effort. One suggestion I've given to framers is to assign someone the task of collecting all the UPC codes and capying invoices, and splitting the rebate as an incentive. Its worked very well!

Probably just to make you go that extra mile.

If you look at rebates as a whole- many people don't do it right and it saves the company money. Just take a look at computer equiptment.

You buy a new monitor for 99.00. It has a rebate for 40.00 that you have to mail in with a reciept (not a copy, so you have to get two) a UPC from the box and it has to be in by a certain date (usually less than 15 days after it was issued)

Down the road you can get the same monitor for 79.99. Only about 1/3 of the people actually complete most rebates because of the 'hassle' so overall the company still makes more money than the people selling it for less.

I'm not saying this is what bainbridge does, but it sure is a pain to collect and remember all those UPC's right? (Or at least getting your employees to remember them) and don't think they don't know that.
