Come to Pickerington for a visit. I'm 1/2 mile off I-70.
Welcome to The G, copleyframer.
I often use Nielsen 100 profile frames for jerseys of all kinds. Two suggestions:
1. Keep the Museum Glass from rattling by lining the moulding's glass channel with 1/4" wide strips of black felt. You don't have to glue it in, just lay cut-to-length strips in the channel and assemble the first three rails by engaging the glass edges first, one at a time. It's easy once you get the hang of it.
2. Make sure the 4th side of your mount board assembly (I suggest matboard reinforced with 3/16" foam center board) is tightly together at the edge. If there is any separation, it will hang up when you try to slip on the last rail. I usually put a line of glue between the boards along all of the edges, which is usually not necessary for other kinds of frames.
3. Assemble three rails and slip your mounted assembly into the frame while it is flat on the table, right-side up, with the 4th side open at the edge of the table.
Make a lifting handle by placing a 4" piece of Scotch tape on the outside of the glass, mid-length, about 1" in from the glass edge. That is, stick the middle 2" of it to itself, and stick 1" of each end to the glass.
After checking once more to be sure you've gotten all the debris off the black suede background

slip the 4th rail into place and lift the sagging glass up so that it slips into the channel. Then lift the frame to vertical and tighten the screws. Finally, pull the tape off. No, it will not take the finish off the Museum Glass.
PS: PaulSF, that crack about "a jersey from a better school" seems a bit judgmental. My school can beat up your school. Gordon Gee, that guy with the bowtie, is back as the OSU President, so I'm sure you left-coasters will soon be cowering in your classrooms, trying to keep up with this academic powerhouse. Speculation is that by 2009, most of the guys on our football team will actually be able to read. And the Athletic Department hopes to have most of them out of jail by 2012.
