Over the years, there have been threads about "How do I chop, join & fit so many frames?".

If any of you have ever taken offense to those few of us who said "suck it up . . that's nothing"....

I won't bore you with what the stack of boxes looks like at 18 images for 163 clinics....

I won't bore you with a 9 stacks of 125 Tenite frames we got as raw moulding that needed
painting black, then insert the rolls and rolls of T-top..... then chop the tuff ramen....

I'll just show you one picture..... one frame. The representative of the 50 this shop has to
create from scratch..... because there is no length moulding or compo allowed at this level.
Just saws, hand tools, sand paper and knowledge.

Welcome to the rarefied air of framing for Christie's, Sotherby's and the high end Museums
of the world.

30 frames, by May 22nd please.

After the first two or three, you should be able to whip them out! (Just kidding...what a wonderful frame! Similar to Ed Sanders frames from Kalispell, Montana. You can find his work on Facebook)

WOW............ they sure gave you a lot of time!

I think you need a magic wand! and some slaves!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Bron's probably available to help out.

Not my shop.

Eli Wilner, and he already has 35+ workers.....
this is what he cranks out all day long.

This probably won't even get half of his staff involved.

Now, this one... took half of his staff a little longer....

And they might be even more impressed at the size; the painting is 21 feet by 12 feet. And you are too humble to mention your article on the reframing at: http://www.eliwilner.com/news/art-decor.php

Here's another article on it : http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/19/arts/design/19fram.html?pagewanted=all

I think number 1 frame company in New York city is Julius Lowy Frame & Restoring Company, I was a gilder there for a few years. Best staff on the planet, and the owner Larry Shar is a very good men. I just love the guy, learned so much from him, even named my company the same.

I have the book about Lowry. Great book.

I have it too, great book. They photographed my hands for that book, but didn't publish it.:)

Wipes drool off keyboard..Proving that my tastes will always outpace my finances...wow. L

Dave, that book you have is on grilling and cooking with herbs and spices from Lowry's

Gilder is talking about the oldest frame house in NYC; Lowy's (no "R").

As to who's the best, I'm not climbing down into that dumpster.....

All I know is who does the high end work for the auction houses, and the Met.

Really Gilder? You named your company "Larry" or "Shar"?
