Anyone planning to go to the New York show, March 8-10? I seem to remember someone posting last year that they stayed in a motel in New Jersey and took a train into the Jacob Javits Convention Center. I can't find the posting, but I am interested in this information. Or, do you have any other suggestions on inxpensive lodging? Also, would love to meet other Grumblers at the show!!

I posted about staying in New Jersey. We stayed at the Gateway Hilton in Newark which is just above Penn Station. Take NJ transit trains into the city - Amtrak costs 11.00, NJ transit costs 1.30 and they run about every 20-30 minutes. It is about a 15 minute ride to the city. We paid $69 for the room - I think it was a bounceback weekend deal which included a full breakfast. Made the reservations on travelweb. Last year we stayed at Amerisuites in Secaucus. (Continental Breakfast was included. The bus stops outside the door and takes you into the Port Authority. I think the fare was about $4.00 one way. That ride was about 10 minutes. Of course it's not be convenient as staying in the city, but we figured it gave us about $400-500 more to spend at the show. There was free parking at the Amerisuites. At the Hilton, it was $8 per day. Email me if you need more details. Not going to the show this year (very disappointing!) but we are headed to Paris that week with a University group. Anybody have tips about that travel adventure, let me know!

I'll be going down on Sunday for one day only. Lunch would be a possibility. Let me know.

Who is going to be in New York? I need to know how many smilies to get.

I also want to know on what day you expect to be at the show, so we can set up a meeting of the Grumblers.

Sue

I'm going to be there Sat - Sun. I'm going to be staying at the Sheraton Manhattan Sat night.

I'll be going almost every day and would love to meet all on Sunday

Just the six of us? Where is everyone else going to be?

I guess Sunday will have to be the day, now... Where and When?

Also, where is Uncl-Boggy? I thought that this being in New York, Bogframe would be going.

Sue

Ok, for those of us who will be in New York, we will meet on sunday at the Master-Clamp booth. Bogframe will be working that booth, so he will have to be in charge of the smilies!

I got in contact with Bogframe, and the reason why he had not responded, was his computer is dead... AGAIN.

But he offered to have the meeting at their booth.

Now I need a time, I would guess somewhere around lunch time? 12:30-1:00? Let me know.

Sue

Did anyone notice the NY show is going to be shorter on Sunday? Pier 88 opens at 10:00, and the rest open at 11:00. The show closes at 4:00. Unless I want to stay over, which I don't, I'll have 5 hours to visit three piers, not counting time out for lunch. Hope to meet you all, but it looks like I'll be on a "wing and a prayer".

How about we meet right before it closes? Then perhaps we can go and get some dinner together?

How about 3:45, at the Master-Clamp booth?

Sue

Sorry to back out folks... But due to situations beond my control, lfoote and I won't be able to be in New York.

We hope to catch up with you all in Atlanta this fall.

For those of you that are planning to go to New York, dress warm! There is supposed to be a snowstorm this weekend.

Hi Framer,

We will be at the Sheraton Manhattan also. It is close to the Stage Deli where I have to get my corned beef and cabbage.

Well folks, the NY show was a sucess for us, we sold a lot of Masterclamps and got a lot of positive feedback from people who already own them. I got to meet a few more of you nice people, but I was a bit dissapointed at the turnout at 3pm at my booth. Framechick showed, but nobody else so I was stuck with taking down the booth instead of being able to run off and socialize

Sorry, I got delayed on pier 94, I lost track of time and poof it was closing time. Got some great stuff this year.

I ran out of time as well. I saw lots of yellow ribbons, but didn't stop to talk to anyone thinking I'd have a chance at the Masterclamp booth. Oh well, guess we'll all have to go to Atlanta.
