I have put this on the main forum as the message is important. We have been working with block print artist Yoshiko Yamamoto to raise funds for the Japanese Relief effort through the sale of her brand new block print, Matsushima Bay. We plan to frame the prints we bought and donate proceeds to the relief effort in Japan. By purchasing a print or two you will not only help those in desperate need, but you will have a beautiful block print for your home or shop. Unframed print sales should go directly through The Arts and Crafts Press web site. Thier Pay Pal link directs funds to the relief organization. We are donating framed print sales directly to the organization. Details:

We found a couple of typos in the newsletter. We know they are there. This was put togther in haste as so few prints are left. We are hoping she will do another edition, but as you know, print costs and high and I am not sure how much more they can do.

If your shop would like to participate in any way, I am sure Bruce and Yoshiko would welcome your call. Thier contact information is on the newsletter that the above link will take you to.

The response is going crazy! We have had to develop a list for people who want them framed. We decided to do them up and charge $350 for them so that the contribution is hefty. I'm still not sure how many we can get to donate framed. Yoshiko tells me that unframed sales are phenominal with almost half the edition of 500 sold since they sent thier announcement last night.

Yoshiko has sold out of the edition so she has graciously volunteered to print and sign another batch. She says she never reprints but as this is such a good cause she is making an exception. As print prices are so high, this is a wonderful contribution. Use the link to purchase if you would still like one for home or shop. We are not selling them directly from the shop, only the framed ones as a larger donation when we receive them.

I just talked with Bruce at The Arts and Crafts Press. His daughter just returned from Japan with heartbreaking video. His son is still there. Yoshiko has increased the edition to 1500. They have recruited volunteers to pack and ship next week as they would otherwise be overwhelmed by the response. Over 700 sold so far and publicity is going viral. So if anyone still wants to order, they will have prints for another week or so. With an incredible amount of work and talent, they will raise over $45,000 for the relief effort.

I should add that Yoshiko Yamamoto is our best selling artist. If any of you are looking for art to add to your shop, her work sells well in an affordable, collectible arts and crafts niche.
