Hey Grumblers, I have had a few Private Messages regarding the specifics of a PhotoMontage so I am posting what exactly it is and how it works and who it appeals too. I am also am attaching a Montage I did of my son Andrew. The background image is from a trip we took to Maine.
What is a PhotoMontage?
The PhotoMontage process captures all of the required images in one digital format through the process of
scanning and stores them on a computer while retaining the original photographs in exactly the
condition the were given. Then these digital images that are stored in the computer are contoured, or cut
away from their backgrounds in an advanced photographic manipulation software program called Adobe
Photoshop. Once all the images have been cut out, the design process can begin. (this is also carried out in
Photoshop).
Why do a PhotoMontage?
The PhotoMontage concept has broad appeal. In a world of mass-produced products it is hard to find a gift
that has a personal appeal. A PhotoMontage has the distinct advantage of being created from the client’s
own photographs (something they already treasure).
Most favorite photographs are hidden away in dusty old albums or hidden away in shoe-boxes, many have
significant value and they can’t be replaced. In a fire, the first thing people grab is their photos because they
represent their past and treasured memories.
A PhotoMontage blends all these memories together and turns them into a piece of art or a family heirloom,
and honors the people in them and their values. Unfortunately this is often lost in our fast moving world.
A PhotoMontage helps to tell a story, a family’s story. It can blend old & new, it can show someones journey
through life and bring together all the things they love. We have had many experiences where the customer
becomes quite emotional when they see the finished product.
Thanks!
