Hi Everyone!
I'm a Canadian, living in Ontario. I've been framing for over 10 years now as well as being an Artist and Photographer. I owned my own shop in a small town for many years. A few years ago I closed my shop and started working for a small chain of Photography studios (17 in all) as thier Custom Framer. Things are going great and business is improving all the time. I just stumbled across your site a few weeks ago and already I've learned a ton from you guys. I don't have a specific question other then for the first time in many years, I find that due to the nature of the shops I work for, I frame tons of Photographs...old and new. Other then regular conservation techniques, is there any special techniques I should know about, especially when framing antique photos. Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ted

Welcome aboard, Ted!

You'll find lots of great folks here, willing to help anytime there's a question.

JRB is right. There's a wealth of info on just about anything in the archives. Just click on 'search' and take it from there.

Welcome to the grumble! Being married to a photogrpaher, I frame alot of photos too. With older photos, I try never to use any permanent mounting methods, such as drymounting. I prefer to use only reversible methods, such as archival corners, sink mats or edge strips.

Soyez bienvenu chez nous (c'est a dire The Grumbler), Ted.
Sometimes my photo frames might be just what you need for those old and precious photos. Take a look at my web site; it is in English, not in Quebecoise ;)
