My name is Tom Brewer.
I've been reading and learning here for a while and have wanted to contibute many times, but I thought I should introduce myself first. My business is a little different than most of yours, non-the-less I have learned quite a bit so far and hopefully I can contribute something that can be learned from as well in the future.
My business is Windy B Millworks and I'm located in Moriarty, New Mexico. I've seen a few other posters from NM which pleases me becasue our state usually gets lost somewhere "out west". I don't have a store, or a studio, or a gallery. What I do have is a shop...a wood shop that is. I'm not certified by anyone, but I've been framing for a couple of years now. Where my business differs from most is that my frames are all "closed corner" custom wood frames which I mill myself to whatever the client is looking for. I make frames out of just about any wood I can get my hands on. I use the best techniques and materials that I can for a given job. A lot of that I've picked up by reading here. I try to target the higher end market, but I have a full range stuff that I can compete with. This isn't the job that pays the bills for me(although I'd like it to be), but it goes hand in hand nicely with my wife's photography business.
Anyway, that's who I am in a nutshell.
