Hi. I am wanting to invest in a new clamping system to hold my frames as they dry. I do not have a V-Nailer yet so I get my chops thumbnailed then glue and assemble them.

I was for sure wanting a clamp that can do all four corners at once.

Any recommendations? I was hopeing perhaps something sub $100.

I eagerly await everyones' response :)
Thanks
Steven

I wpuldn't think that a clamp would be nessesary
for thumbnails. I never used one when I was thumbnailing, but now that I'm V nailing, that's a different story. somebody (in the archives) made a 4 corner clamp that was really neat ( I think it was Ron) but you had to be a graduate engineer to build it. Now I just use 4 frame vises or a strap clamp for production purposes.

Thanks for the links! I am still looking :)
I still like to use a clamp on the thumbnails. Sometimes it is not needed, but other times I think it makes a much clearner looking stronger joint.

The Bessey strap clamps are inexpensive and versatile.

I also like the SER clamps - United or LJ has them. A tip - demonstrating their versatility - add a fourth corner to the strap so that you can put the ratchet in the center of a leg. Then you can stack two clamps for a tall or complex profile. I also use a Mahle clamp for those occasional frames where more power is needed.
