Hello all, from warm/sunny(78-80) FLA. A customer just brought in a very old painting--my fix-it-up lady says at least 200 years. I can't find anything on the artist...the plate on the frame says "the children of the borghese gardens" "willard d paddock". anyone out there ever hear of him??? Thanks, in advance. bill ward

If it was indeed Willard Dryden Paddock you can tell her it likely isn't 200 years old. If I did the math right that would put it 68 years before he was born. ;) I've seen "Back to the Future" though so I know anything is possible being that I'm pretty sure that was a documentary.

thanks all....we're grasping at straws on the name, etc....unsigned canvas, acquired out of family, NO history, etc, etc. could be the guy used older canvas as my gal is very definite about the age of the canvas....found 1 landscape on web & it definitely has a similar flavor(style/color)...just another knockoff??? we'll NEVER know!!!
w.w.
