My week for aid. :)

Client wants a magnetic bulletin board. I suggested sheet metal with earth magnets. She loved that idea but wants it to be 24 x 36, uncovered as she likes the look of the steel. I'll try to find a "clean" piece of sheet metal that big but don't have hopes. I use these myself on the inside of my kitchen cabinet doors, but they're only 12 x 18.

Anything else you can suggest?

In addition to a local sheet metal company, also check with a heating/AC company since they often create their own sheet metal duct work.
Also a metal building manufacturer.

we had a job of mounting maps to sheet metal so the client could put magnets on it to indicate places she had been. We found a local source to cut the metal to size, and they recommended what thickness metal to use. It worked out really well.

Raphaels makes a magnetic board to order, covered with your choice of fabric. They also make cork boards, precovered. They have cool little square magnets to go with the magnet boards.

I was overly bored once and used a wire laced back & forth across the front of corkboard covered with fabric - it was pretty cool having pins and magnets - but I can't say I'd be keen to make one again!

How about chicken wire. Could that have worked?

yeah, thanks...:icon19: Actually, when I posted this before I thought to myself "why didn't I use a mesh" - getting caught up in the moment I guess, thankfully they keep me locked away these days...
