Could someone possibly post the dimensions for the pillar post (that holds the glass wheel) on a Fletcher 1100? I need the length, size of stock, and the measurement from the end for the screw hole (thumbscrew)

If someone has an extra one of these laying around that they would like to sell I would be interested in purchasing.

Thanks

Mark,

I usually cut ovals by hand also. I seem to have a problem getting the pillar posts with the discontinued fletcher items I buy and they do not stock them. I sucessfully fabricated one for an old 8448 that I am using and it works great. I was wanting to either fabricate one for the 1100 or find one so I could see how the 1100 does on glass, since it does such a great job on cutting ovals in mats. Just a curiosity for me!

Thanks

Cutting the glass is easy, even with the 1100. It's the break out that causes the issue.

When you score using the 1100 you need to form a complete break before you can remove the cut out. If you have a skip anywhere along the score line the cut seems to follow out and ruin the piece.

If you use a hand cutter, you can score a relief cut and break off sections and then move around the perimeter.

You need to add relief cuts with the 1100, too. It helps to tap the score with the ball on a regular glass cutter. It works just as well as manual cutting and it is accurate.

I am also looking for the Pillar Post for the Fletcher Terry 1100. I would like to machine one also if I could get the specs. Fletcher Terry is not giving up the information. whats up with that?
