my HP all-in-one printer bit the bullet this week after 5 years of good service! so I'm in the hunt for a replacement----
I see that HP is making alot of the 'photo' AIO's that are(I'm guessing) the 'same' as the "non" photo's but haver much better scanner(& perhaps better inkjet guns??), yes? unfortunately the spped of HP(never a great feature) has slowed even further.
I'm actually tending toward the epson 700(good scanner, seperate color inks, wifi-able, duplex-able), but have read that the fax startup is a "go over & push the 'on' button" affair---anyone have one of these???? is this true for the model or just this one guy's sorrow? Anyone have wireless printer AND problems??? (mine would be 3 ft apart--printer/router).. have read both ways--big problem/NO problem--inconclusive!
There is one vendor that gives free ship+$50 instant rebate if bought by this SAT(this pays for the duplexer).
Anyone use/have used Epson AIO???????? comments??? problems?? pros/cons????
thanks for your opinions! Always nice to get another opinion.

My experience with Epsons is that unless you use them constantly the heads clog and you spend lots of time and ink trying to unclog them. I have now switched to Canon PIXMA machines 95 separate ink tanks) at both home and work and have been very happy with them. The one here at work is an all-in-one, and the scanner is much faster than my standalone Epson scanner at home. Only issue I've had with it is that scans from it that I have sent to Digital Custom have resulted in over-saturated color. However, this is all adjustable in the software's Advanced mode.

pcmag.com reviews all in ones. Gives you info you need to make a good decision! But I tend to get all the info together, research the heck out of a "big purchase" rthen I go to staples and buy the cheapest unit they got.... ;)

I did get a heck of a deal on a dented demo last years printer. HP 1600Color for under $100. It's been worth it.

I am a big fan of the HP Officejet PRO series.

Note I put the PRO in it.

Without the pro - well lets put it this way - I would not want my opinion on a public forum : )

Canon makes some very affordable, but well built equipment as well.

I have also had some great experiences with the lesser expensive Epsons that take the seperate ink tanks.
