Tried using a heat press and didnt work very well even when adjusting the temps high and low............

Any other methods..........I only have a heat press..........used to have a cold press and think it would work with vacu-mount and a cold press but I dont have the cold press anymore............

Tried just laying the map flat on the foamboard but still has waves in it.........

Suggestions appreciated...............

If it is laminated, I usually sand lightly the reverse side and spray foam board with Super 77. I use a sqeegee thing covered in cloth (so it wont scratch the surface) to smooth it out. Then I put it under weight overnight. If it is no larger than your dry mount, you can weight it in that. If larger, weight it under a box of glass.

Just Vinyl...........Not laminated

I have mounted laminated pieces in the heat press and they come out fine..........its like when the heat hits the vinyl it expands in certain areas and leaves ridges.........in some spots it lays down nice and smooth........

Try to stick just a little coner to a piece of Perfect Mount but with vinyl you may only get one chance. Be sure to test first since you may only get one chance. I laminate a lot of signs with a self adhesive film and once it touches the paper it can't be repositioned so be careful.

If you use the perfect mount, roll in onto a mailing tube with release paper on it. Tack the edge of the map to the perfect mount and then use the tube to roll it onto the perfect mount uniformly. (works best with two people)
