I am looking for a nice new background pix for my screen. My current fave is the one that came with the computer: Paradise!!

And I go to my own pictures and none are of nice enough quality to use... and when I go on websites the quality isn't there either.

Any suggestions of where to snag a new "dream" picture?

Thanks, Roz

Hows about we have a Grumbler background, we can all submit pictures we have taken from our local areas and choose from them as well.
If we click on 'reply with quote' we can cut and paste the link.

Here is my favourite - Arundel Castle and the River Arun, West Sussex - Jan 2005 - taken by me.

Roz,

If you have a favorite image (either negative or slide) in your collection that you would like to plop on your screen, send it to me an I’ll scan it for you. Just tell me your monitor resolution and how you would like it cropped.

This is what I am currently using. It was scanned from a slide.

Paul, I just "stole" yours temporarilly!! It looks great on the screen...

Bill, thanks I'll see if I need to do that... I do have digital images but none that look quite as good as these!

Oh, Paul, I love your picture so much!!! Gees - I thought I wanted to look at a paradise/beach scene... but this is too gorgeous.

Thanks, again!

Here's the view from my beach cottage which sits on a bluff above the pier in San Clemente:

My favorite place - Gimmelwald, Switzerland:

These previews should render only halfsize on your browser, but they are full size 1200x1600 pixel images. Right click "save image as" if you'd like one for a wallpaper. Note that they look a lot better at fullsize because web browsers have a lousy size reduction algorithm. Apologies if you are on dial-up.
