Anyone have a piece of Bainbridge 4187 Sage Ceylon?
It's a green suede with a subtle "striated" texture.
Overall size for the project is 20-3/4 x 34.

Thanks.

That's a purty matboard, but I don't have that sample here.

How does B4847 compare to that? No quite as shiney, but the shade looks very similar.

That's what we decided to go with, or the Crescent equivalent which appears to have the same surface material. The textured version would have been nice, because it's for one of those miniature Turkish rugs that have a similar sheen in their silk surface texture. ...Alas.

P.S. Yes, it has fringe but fortunately the customer wants the top fringe turned under and the bottom to hang free. I'm thinking of putting a layer of ployester batting under the rug, below the top fringe, to provide a "level playing field". Anyone see any problem with that?

If nobody closer has it, you could try checking
with Jayeness, in Spokane. 800-509-2324.
They have a warehouse there and one in Seattle,
and oftentimes they have mats that are gone
other places.

Same here... have a half sheet in stock. :(

Thank you all for checking, but she was fine with the standard suede texture, so I already have a substitute board.

Jim, what do you think of my plan to use a layer of polyester batting to "level up" the rest of the rug when the top fringe is turned under? I'll be using some combination of stitching and Attach-EZ to mount the piece.

what, no ATG and staples???

I like the batting idea Rick, personally. Let's see what Jim knows...

That should work, but you might need more than one layer to avoid too much compression under the fastenings.

Could you use a solid spacer under the rug instead, trimmed just short of the turned-under fringe, such as a sheet of 4 mm Coroplast? You could stitch or install the nylon fasteners through that, and then wire it to the background board, which would probably need to be reinforced.

Or, could you pull the fringe to the back of your background/mounting board through a horizontal slot cut into the board, and then attach the rug directly to the face of the board?

Those all sound like viable approaches. I thought it might look nice to have the rug be raised slightly above the background anyway. The coroplast riser is intriguing, because the pre-mounted rug could be affixed to the backing as a unit. Thanks for the great suggestions.
