I just wanted to share this. I have been looking for a way to display fillets and came up with this idea. I saw a photo somewhere of something similar and just came up with my own thing. I bought chipboard and scored it in four pieces of 10x24 and then used spray glue to cover it in black velcro fabric. I then built plain square profile black frames for the top and bottom to hold it all together. On the top I added a piece of black suede mat and a piece of plexi. I drilled a hole through the plexi and matboard and attached a knob which I can pick it up by. They store under my table when I am not using them. Although I do try to keep one on top of the counter to give customers ideas. I intended on adding lazy susans so they would spin and haven't gotten around to it. I have black felt on the bottom so they don't scratch the counter and they are so lightweight it is no problem to turn them without the spinner.

I've been using them for a couple months now and I think it has made it easier to display and much easier to choose from when I am selling fillets. Although I have two now and I could very easily add another one but I figure each one displays 100 fillets so a couple hundred to choose from should be more than enough.

The cost was virtually the price of one piece of chipboard which as about $10.

Kathy - that is too cool!!! I think this could be your "million dollar" idea... and it needs to be patented and marketed....

and I was excited about covering the front and back of my closet door that opens into the design area with carpet!!!

Good idea, we just don't have the space to store them on or off the counter :-(

as always, in much need of space but can't find any

Thanks guys! Unfortunately Roz, since I revealed my secret formula on how to make these babies it won't be the million dollar cash cow I have been looking for. Geez, I could have cornered the market on fillet displays too. Rats!

But, just in case some of you are not up to the challenge please go to www.emibubsfundsforherfuture.com and for just $99.99 I will build you one of these little units. Please add $24.99 for shipping and allow 10-12 weeks for delivery.

Of course, after reading another thread on "store policy" I will have to post here "No refunds allowed".

I think the idea is great. I'm going to have the artist player in our shop make them with foam board. Actually we have mat racks (like framerguys) made of foam board and small tables to sit your cafine on during break.

I never heard of no rush charge...who is he and why is he charging me??? I am not sure that is fair, but could you have them ready by 9AM and deliver them to the guy on the corner at North Street and Main? If you pull up he will unload them for you. Let me know if there is a problem.

take care
d

This is a great idea. Our sample fillets are stored on flat boards under our table, but I'd love to have them on the table. This would be great for my clients.

Dennis, The "boys" made the drop off at fourth and main. I don't think the "guy" they found was prepared to make the payment as "the boys" had to "extract" it from him. Be advised he is looking for you!

As always, a pleasure doing business with you!
