My LJ samples are out to kill me

Moments ago another sample fell off the wall - velcro on the wall still. Third time this week. This one landed very close to me on the counter. Glad a customer (and their art) was not present.

Its only happening with my LJ samples. They're relatively new samples (all from this year) and they are falling at an alarming rate. Sometimes damaging my art inventory, or tempting fate on the walls by the counter ...guess I'll have to plan some time to staple the velcro on to only the LJ samples, as the other company samples have been pretty good for many years.

HA! This happens to me daily........
If it happens when a customer is present..... I just say....

"Well, Apparently higher powers want us to use this frame....... " :D

I've noticed new Nurre samples all "falling."
Also, my Direct Moulding samples all were on the floor one morning - I blaimed the fairies.

They seem to be using a large sheet velcro with poor adhesive.

My last two batches of LJ samples came in stapled, so I'm guessing someone already complained.

Easy solution- just make sure all new samples have their velcro stapled before putting them up. I've seen even the big wide chevrons come loose.
 Rick

My biggest related issue is keeping velcro on the backs of metal samples. I used to use a rail/clip system to display them but have phased that out. Some newer profiles have come in assembled with plastic corner inserts that seem to hold the velcro better, but the metal hardware in my older samples does not. The best solution I've found so far is using Duco cement to assist adhesion.

It's not just you!!! Mine have been falling down too. In fact, one came down just 5 minutes ago.

I received two boxes with new samples; one of them stapled (Stitch), the other not (Lancaster).

Every time someone says something negative about Larson Juhl on the Grumble, a moulding sample falls off a framers wall.

HA!HA! Love it!!

We call them Jumpers. There are occasionally one or two on the floor in the morning when we come in. I think they party when we leave at night.

What amazes me is they actually LEAP off the wall. I've seen it!! They don't just fall or they would slide onto the guy under them. I've had them clear float frame!!

We also put a bunch of samples up with double sided tape and velcro. Then one more we came in to a lot of broken glass on the floor!! Who knew!??!

This thread would be so much more fun on Warpped.

Doesn't everyone shoot a staple into the velcro before samples go up on the wall? Nielsen samples are my nemesis.

I've made sure the velcro has a staple through it on every sample that on my wall for 20+ years. I thought everybody does this.
