When it rains it pours.

I have yet in my new business to do a jersey.

And don't I get two today!! From different customers.

First one, a Michael Jordan Basketball jersey (small, easy!!)

Second one, a high school footballjersey with LOTS of other accompanying stuff: Grad cap/tassel, name band, school blanket, two chenelle (?) letter awards and possbily a newspaper article.

I am excited.... can't wait to tackle these... I think I charged all the right prices... chose the right mouldings... so any words of wisdom from Jersey/memorabilia gurus!!??

Thanks, Roz

Go for it, Girl. You can do this. There was a thread a while back on framing jerseys. I don't remember who started it, but you can search on jeresys and find it. Good luck! Wait. You don't need luck. You have the skill! :D

Roz, if your enthusiasm for these projects lasts through sewing down the second one, I've got half a dozen more I could send you.

Really, they're not so bad; I just enjoy whining about them.

Roz,

I did a Jordon and a Pippen jersey, both certified game jerseys, and they were anything but "small, easy!!". Those l'il dribblers are very VERY "vertically endowed"!

The finished shadowboxes were almost 5' tall and I wasn't even sure that large Wallbuddies would do the job of holding all that weight on the wall! (BTW, they did a great job, the Wallbuddies.)

You will find a couple of threads on the Grumble about mounting game jerseys. Making a form for the jerseys will make mounting them much easier and will help to retain their shape. Those game jerseys are heavier than these shirts they sell at Walley World with somebody's number and name on the back and need more than just a few well placed stitches to hold them up.

The highschool jersey is another matter because of the other items that are involved. I posted a couple of pictures of sports shadowboxes some time ago that had a number of items in them. I use mat openings and float mounts to give more depth to the presentation. I have an all-star jersey that I did that I will try to post for you to see. It had photos, programs, an equipment locker nameplate, jersey, and maybe some other items. I will try to find it and post it on this thread.

This is great - all the support from all of you. THANK YOU!!

And, the MJ jersey was from a kid's basketball camp - so it definitely is smaller than a game jersey - it's only 31" long and my first guess was that it was not really worn my MJ - just signed - pretty special either way!

I will check the other posts on the subject... and proceed with enthusiasm!! :D Roz
