I've often had customers move, who've asked if I could give any recommendations. Remember that your customers have established a relationship of trust with you, and now they are looking for someone to fill
"your" shoes!
I usually make this recommendation. Look for three things:
<UL TYPE=SQUARE>
<LI>
A PPFA membership logo on the door - This tells you that the owners care about the direction the business is going.
<LI>
Is the framer a CPF - This will tell you that the owner cares about the direction his own skills are headed.
<LI>
Is the shop clean and tidy - If they don't care about the way their business looks, then they probably won't pay that much attention to your work, either.
[/list]
Now this is not a fool proof method, but I'll bet if a framer passes these three tests, you can probably feel somewhat secure that they'll do a competent job.
Regards,
John
