Question Mounting on dibond??

Contact Kool Tack. www.kooltack.com

They can apply their excellent, low-temperature dry mounting adhesive to any aluminum composite panel. I'm sure he could get DiBond, but he may have some ePanel or a similar composite sheet on hand. I bet he can cut it to size for you, too.

Set your press to 160 degrees, with dwell time of about 1 minute, and dry mount as usual -- almost. Keep reading.

When you dry mount to an aluminum composite panel using a Perma-Lon Release Board, make sure the mounting sheet is larger than the Perma-Lon Release Board, because the aluminum board's edges could permanently crease the Perma-Lon Release Board.

If you use a vacuum press, also place a sheet of flawboard or mat scrap under the aluminum panel, because the hard edges could damage the bladder of your press.

Wait till you see the results. In tests, I dry mounted a 16x20 digital photograph to a piece of ePanel with Kool Tack adhesive, then peeled it off and did it again...and again...and again...20 times so far, and the adhesive is still aggressive enough to hold a secure bond with the paper. Every mount comes out perfectly.

If you know anyone who would benefit from a re-usable, rigid, durable dry mounting board, this is your dream come true. How about a restaurant that displays a digital poster of weekly specials? Peel off last week's poster and dry mount the new one on the same board -- no prep needed in-between.

Because the board is very hard and rigid, it makes a perfect background. That's why the paper can be peeled off again and again without damaging the paper or the panel's adhesive layer. Also, if you mount using ordinary release paper with a few wrinkles, they won't show on the image.

Yes- but did you varnish it with Premier Eco Shield after mounting? And how many coats?

If a tree falls in the woods and there is nobody there to hear it, is it still archival.:icon45:
