Our local hospital was used in the new Super Man movie coming out this year.

They have a vinyl banner that says.... SMALLVILLE Hospital.......
Its 10ft long by about 4ft
problem........... its in a half moon shape........... no easy rectangle.......
Straight across the bottom...

They have no idea where they will put it... but its huge.
Has anyone mounted one of these? I would definately use gator.... just not sure how to adhere it??

Nic, is it stitched along the top/bottom? You could then sew/attachEZ it there as well. You might also then use the grommet holes and add some rope running to sides of frame to make it look like it were hanging. I have my banners hanging outside and I use the grommet holes with carabiners to hang it from eye-hooks under my overhang. Just saying you might want to make it look like what it is.

One big frame have fun!

I think J Paul's grommet and rope idea is spot on. My concern would be with the gator and the possibility of it bowing, since it is so long.

No grommets..... I wish......
Here is a picture of what it looks like. I hate the wrinkles.
It's thicker at the edges wheres its sewn.

Darn baby has to be in every picture.

Once you've mounted it to gator, you could always attach a strainer to the back of the gator to keep it from bowing.

FYI Superman; Man of Steel is not coming out until summer 2013, next year.....sad I know...

We use vinyl wallpaper adhesive for banners- great workability (and forgiving - unlike contact cement) and water-soluble.

I would use a minimum of 1/2" thick gator - natural or black - white has a surface coating that does not like water-borne adhesives.

And do it when Kayden is napping :) (or else get the velcro suit).

COOL..... I will definately look into that adhesive.

so mount it to gator...... then what to use as a background...
I'm awesome...... but not that awesome to make the frame that shape....

No problem on the frame that shape. We can do it for about $3K wholesale
in a nice clean architectural black with a 3/4" wide lip to allow for spread, and
differentials in the shape.

See my midwest plant manager Bron.

:D

can you get a picture of it in place as it was used? That can guide you as to
what to do frame wise.

Or just put it in a custom "rectangular" frame.. I'll only charge 25% less than Baer!

I'll have to see what the hospitals budget is..... maybe we can trade services?? LOL

I'm thinking I want to incorporate something from the movie....... maybe pictures and such. but I will most likely have to wait until the movies comes out. :icon21:

I was thinking you could use Mat Shimmers, a nice Kryptonite Green or Superman Dark Blue and Red like his new costume.
