I do a bit of jewelry designing sometimes. The other day I was working with wire called Tiger Tail. It is a very strong wire and has a vinyl coating on it.

I have a tile that is very artistic that needs framing. I was going to try putting some mylar strips on it, but as I am working with my jewelry, I looked at that wire and said, "hmmmmmm, why wouldn't this work?" So, could I have you thoughts, please?

Vinyl polymers often contain plasticizers to make
them soft and those plasticizers may come out.
Since this material was designed to work with
jewelry, which can be expected to contain silver
and copper, it may have a plastic that does not
affect such sensitive metals. This is the issue
one would want to address before it is used in place of Mylar.
