It looks like a somewhat finished-corner frame. Look at that deckeled tearing at the seam. Like the finish was applied after it was joined.

That was my first guess but the photo posted appears to have a deeper lip.

I figured "close" was better than zero options - if there wasn't a sub anywhere else....

I was guessing that the angle of the photo doesn't really show the finish but rather the depth of the lip. If I were to guess I would say the finish is close but that could only be a guess.

Am I the only one who believes this is a "finished corner" or stock frame of some sort?

Looking closely at the photo, the seam in the corner looks like the metal leaf is tearing on the seam a little (not like two pieces of wood already finished butted together) and the corner seems ever so slightly rounded off, again like it was finished after joining. I just don't see this specific one being a length frame.

Looks like a miter on a pre-finished moulding to me.
