If she wasn't a repeat customer, I'd probably just say please bother somebody else!

Customer had two matching pictures framed about 15 years ago. Shop that did it is out of business. One of the frame jobs broke. Each picture uses two frames as follows ...

One frame - A gold half round 1/2" wide, 1/2" tall with a 3/8" rabbet filled with acrylic. (About 30" x 28")

Attached (holes drilled and nailed from behind) to the surface of the acrylic is a matching smaller frame (about 23" x 21") that at first looked identical, but is really 3/8" wide, 1/2" tall with a 1/4" rabbet. This inner frame has the the picture and acrylic over it. THAT'S IT.

Both frames are gold with red under rubbed for a slight antique effect. The picture she brought in was dropped and frames and acrylic shattered.

They are hung with two sawtooth hangers on the top rail!

Anyone recognize the profile?

I know you only needed the profile description, but I had to whine about the whole thing a little!

Cliff,
Even with a repeat customer I would tell them that the chance of finding similar (very thin frames) is slim to nill. 20 years ago 1/2" frames were common..........not anymore.

Bringing to the top again. Just in case.

Bob, I am convinced you are correct. That was the source of the moulding.

Now, anyone know of a "replacement" anywhere?

Thanks

I think 297 is still available, have them send a "chunk" on your next delivery. I've had them send me "shorts and cut offs" FOC if I have a question about the moulding and don't have a sample.

Also call Dave campion and ask him! He might have an idea which moulding it is. I love "matching" old jobs!
