What is the best direction to advise when a customer comes in and wants to put a "frame" around an existing wall mounted mirror?

I know that most frames are way too deep for the mirror already mounted on the wall...

Seems like a real challenge to my brain today!!

Thanks,

Roz

You can use a normal moulding than use a fillet to take up some of the space.Or use two mouldings, or you could get a frame and run it through a table saw in order to make the profile shorter.

I have added a fillerr moulding cut in reverse to go into the larger frame. the whole ting was then glued to the mirror. (large mirror over the fire place, edge to edge, mantel to ceiling)
