Moulding box size?

Do you know what is the typical size of a moulding box?

Depends on the vendor. There is no fixed size.

I've seen them as small as 4 x 4 x 4 (and up to 14 feet) and as large as 12 x 8 x 8 (also up to 14 feet). They can even go longer than that.

Call your specific vendor to find out.

No, I was asking the size of the box, but thank you the amount of feet per box is also helpful

If you're designing your box around your moulding, the length of it is the easy part. Allow at least 3" on each end for packing.

If you're wondering about girth...consider selling your moulding in boxes that will easily accommodate a couple hundred of feet or less. You don't want your moulding moving around much otherwise it'll scar. A tight box ships best. Consider that people may stack your boxes and a box that is wider may be better.

If you're shipping in smaller quantities, either plan on purchasing some cheap packaging material or have small diameter boxes made.

Also consider stock sizes from your local box manufacturer. If they're already doing something similar, it can mean a big break for you.

6x6 up to 12x12. They are all different. If you are building a rack system it is best to use graduated sizes. Mine start out 14" and the smallest is 7". I don't have dividers between each so the boxes can be turned in different directions to allow for the best fit.

My racks are horizontal.

Roma's standard box size is 10" x 10" x 10ft. Quantities vary depending on the width and height of the moulding. A 6" wide ornate moulding could have as few as 40-50ft while a 1/2" simple matte black might be as much as 800'.
