Long story - gift to my wife from her parents / grandparents.
Basically a special, cute, little family heirloom.
Paper cut is supposed to be just post war from Japan. Thin as single ply tissue paper. Framing was done in the early 70s???

Frame was handmade. Very nice. Kept it. 7in x 10in

Kitty took over 2 hours to get off the glass and cardboard in old frame. It was not stuck, but was so fragile it was near impossible to move without it folding over on itself. The bottom right was also bend in the original frame. No way to get it straight.

Cutting is laying on 4 ply crescent rag mount board and covered with mylar.
Tiny little mat from scrap and conservation clear. Backed with artcare FC. Kitty is in a much nicer home now.

Sorry for the poor picture, glare, finger prints and Shadow being a little too curious.

Not an easy piece, that's for sure!

I've framed one of these...the entire thing is cut from a single piece of paper. It's amazing what some artists can do!

The only thing more nerve racking would be framing it for someone else other than your wife :)

So good! I would be honored to be a part of your brainstorming team and support you! I firmly believe your proposals will draw huge amounts of attention from the public! Pallet Racking

I like the way you spaced the details on the bamboo. It gives the piece a little movement.

Cat..............

I have a tomcat that has to help me with my projects at home too. I tell my wife if something happens to me, he can tell her how things were done............;)
