Morso Eh leaking oil, the big cylinder..

Hello, Erik from Sweden here, i have got a 40 year old morso that is leaking more and more at the black ring on the main cylinder that brings the knifes up. I ask Morso in Danmark nd the told me only way to fix was to buy a hole new cylinder för 1400 dollars. Their supplier where not willing to sell new packings the told me... Have anyone had the same problem ? And a cheaper solution

Parallel situation: I have a pneumatic Morso, and one part, the slide handle, wore out. Instead of buying a new piece at $250 US, I had a friend build a new one. Looks like you’ll have to either buy a replacement, or do what I did.

A leaking cylinder? This sounds like a warn seal o-ring.
There should be industrial cylinder service companies in your country that can "rebuild" (replace the seals) for your machine. Just do an internet search for "hydraulic cylinder repair near me".

thanks! I did some google work and found a company in Göteborg on the west coast. So much cheaper
